A YouTube stunt video featuring an excavator swinging people on a rope ended with one man suffering broken bones, a fractured skull, and a damaged eye when he slammed into the excavator.
The accident took place in 2020, but recent videos have brought the incident back to the fore as the vlogger operating the excavator has sought to apologize for the accident and mend the relationship with his collaborator. They are age-restricted, and only viewable on YouTube.
The video segment (begins at 8:30) begins with the excavator positioned in a shallow body of water with water up to the upper track. It proceeds to swing first with a tube and two people skimming across the water. Then it swings, pulling a person on a wakeboard.
According to the video, the vloggers did not think the stunts were exciting enough, so they tied a rope to the excavator stick, looped a foothold, and began to swing one of the men. The video censors the moment of impact yet contains disturbing images as well as mature language.
A followup video highlights the victim's injuries and recovery.
