Federal safety investigators are looking into the death of a construction worker at the Salt Lake City International Airport.
According to a report on KUTV, the worker’s employer, SoNev Construction, released a statement Wednesday night saying the incident occurred while maintenance was being performed on construction equipment.
The worker’s identity has not been released. Salt Lake City Police are working with the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner and OSHA to investigate the fatality.
The KUTV report also said SoNev received an OSHA citation in 2020 for a "serious" equipment safety violation during an inspection. It agreed to a settlement with OSHA, according to online records referenced by the station.
