Dig World, a construction-themed amusement park, is underway in Houston and is set to open sometime in the coming months according to Click 2 Houston. Once open, the 3.5-acre park will offer attendees the opportunity to operate various machines including excavators and skid steers.
“We want to create memorable experiences for families that last a lifetime as well as educate the next generation about construction and all the possibilities that surround that industry,” said Jacob Robinson, one of the park's founders, in a statement.
In addition to heavy machinery, Dig World will also have a a mining station, UTVs, and various other attractions. The park also partnered with the Texas A&M University Department of Construction Science, which will provide educational materials for the park.
“The Department of Construction Science is excited to partner with Dig World to create an educational partnership, where future generations can experience and learn about the dynamic construction industry,” said Dr. Patrick Suermann, Professor and Department Head.
