Ford said the global semiconductor shortage continues to pressure its production capabilities. It announced several factory slowdowns or closures in response.
- The Ford F-150 pickup truck is one vehicle affected by the shortage. Ford said it will run two shifts in its Dearborn Truck Plant the weeks of July 12, 19, and 26.
- At Ford’s Kansas City, Missouri, assembly plant the F-150 production line will close the weeks of July 12 and 19, and its Transit line will be down the week of July 19.
- Also affected are the company’s F-250 through F-550 Super Duty trucks. Those are produced at its Kentucky Truck Plant, which will not operate the week of July 12, and will run two shifts the weeks of July 19, 26, and August 2.
- The Michigan Assembly Plant, which produces the Ford Ranger, will be down the weeks of July 5 and 26 due to an unrelated parts shortage, the company says.
