Kohler has developed Kohler Pro 10W-50 Oil and Kohler Pro Extended Life oil filters, which when paired together, the company says, triple the oil change interval from 100 to 300 hours in Kohler gas engines.
“By eliminating two of every three oil changes, equipment operators can reduce the total cost of annual oil changes by up to 50 percent while increasing equipment uptime and productivity,” says Kohler's Tom Vallo, channel manager-service parts.
The new Kohler Pro 10W-50 is a full synthetic oil engineered specifically for extended oil change intervals on Kohler gas engines. The proprietary formulation is shear-stable with high-film-strength to provide extended wear protection, with a more durable fluid film than conventional oils, Kohler says.
In addition, the 10W-50 oil has been formulated for all-season performance and includes extra corrosion protection for extended seasonal storage. It also provides lower oil consumption than comparable conventional oils.
The Kohler Pro Extended Life oil filters feature 10-micron fiberglass media supported by wire backing designed to provide extra capacity with superior filtration, metal end caps, and a robust anti-drain back valve to ensure oil flow in all conditions. The filter is available in two sizes, depending on the Kohler engine model.
Kohler is offering three Kohler Pro 300 Hour Oil Change Kits, consisting of Kohler Pro 10W-50 full synthetic oil and Kohler Pro Extended Life oil filter, to service most Kohler gas engines.
