“Downsville Dam” documents the project’s construction in the Catskill Mountains between 1947 and 1954. The 140-page book is available from the Historical Construction Equipment Association.
This is Edgar Browning’s 12th and final book. Most of the material was provided by a grandson of joint venture sponsor Carlo Bianchi Co., and the book contains about 250 black-and-white photographs that show all stages of the project. The project required 96 Euclid FDT bottom dumps.
