With its theme "Concrete: More Economical Than Ever!," the Missouri/Kansas Chapter of the American Concrete Pavement Association (MO/KS ACPA) held its 27th Annual Portland Cement Concrete Pavement Conference Feb. 27–March 1 at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. The conference, which drew more than 725 members and associates, included Back-to-Basics educational sessions, reviews of interesting area concrete projects, and updates from KDOT, MoDOT and FHWA.
During the Paving Awards Luncheon held Feb. 28, the association recognized the area's best concrete projects completed in 2006 in Kansas and Missouri. Also during the luncheon, Frank Keeling was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedicated service and leadership through the years.
Keeling, president and CEO of Precision Tractor & Equipment, Inc., has served on the association's board of directors since the group was formed in 1987 and served continuously as treasurer until last year. He has also held numerous positions of responsibility in the national ACPA and construction equipment trade associations.
