The C13B 12.5L engine is designed to meet Tier 4-F emission standards.
The 6-cylinder unit combines upgraded air, electrical, and aftertreatment systems to produce a range of powers from 455 to 576 horsepower and up to 1,947 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine package is 30 percent lighter at these performance levels, when compared to previous models, Cat says. As with all of the company’s 9L to 18L engines, the C13B will be offered in a number of configurations to provide OEMs flexibility. Engine-mounted afterteatment and full Industrial Power Unit configurations are offered out of the factory in Seguin, Texas. Remote-mounted aftertreatment is also possible, with minimal installation requirements between the engine and aftertreatment.
