The C9.3B 6-cylinder 9.3L engine combines a high-pressure common-rail fuel system and simplified air, electrical, and aftertreatment systems to produce up to 455 horsepower and 1,540 lb.-ft. of torque out of a package that is nearly 309 pounds lighter than its predecessor.
Also, the company has removed 39 percent of the aftertreatment packaging size out of the previous design. Engine-mounted aftertreatment and full industrial power units are available straight from the factory. Remote-mounted aftertreatment is available as an installation option, as well. The option requires wiring, coolant, and DEF effects added to the system.
