The Western Wide-Out adjustable-wing snowplow is designed to hydraulically extend its width and to adjust its configuration in order to carry or windrow more snow. The movable-wing design, says the company, allows independent hydraulic control of each wing to transform the plow from an 8-foot straight blade, to a 10-foot straight blade, to a scoop-position width of nearly 9 feet. The plow is designed to fully angle in the scoop position to increase snow-carrying capacity while maneuvering around obstacles or turning corners.
