Engcon is switching to its safe, proprietary quick hitch, and will no longer manufacture the conventional S-type quick hitches in the sizes S45-S80. According to the company, the company’s modern Q-Safe (QS) quick hitches connect hydraulics, central lubrication, and electrical power automatically. The change aims to make excavation safer and efficient.
The quick hitch’s standardized locking method makes incorrect connection impossible, avoiding the risk of a bucket coming unhitched. According to the company, the locking system eliminates the “human factor” when it comes to incorrect tool connection, and avoids the risk of the bucket coming unhitched entirely or from one axle.
"We're constantly hearing tragic news about people injured or killed due to unsafe quick hitches and incorrect operation. I think this is unacceptable and refuse to stand by when something could be done. Therefore, the decision was made to switch entirely to our proprietary safe hitch and locking system," Stig Engström, Engcon's founder, said in a press release.
