With the current construction industry emphasis on ensuring off-highway equipment is environmentally responsible and where necessary compliant, German-based Huss Group is hitting North America with the MD-System, a diesel particulate filter featuring active diesel injection. Combining active and passive diesel particulate filters, the system allows continuous regeneration without downtime for the engine.

The intent is to provide a better opportunity for cost-efficient particulate-matter reduction in low-temperature equipment, especially at exhaust gas temperatures of approximately 390 degrees. The California-certified filter’s triangle channel structure is said to offer about 15-percent more filter area compared to the traditional quad design.
