Models R55-9A and R55W-9A have been upgraded with Tier 4-Final engines. Tracked R55-9A has steel tracks with the option of rubber tracks, and the R55W-9A is wheeled. Redesigned hydraulic system includes an arm flow summation system, boom holding system, and a swing parking brake. Pump flow control has been improved, and improved spool values provide more precise flow to each function, Hyundai says. Structural improvements include stronger but slimmer tubing in the cabin for improved visibility, and low-stress, high-strength steel integrally welded for a stronger upper and lower frame, the company says. Counterweight rear guards protect the engine hood, and a boom cylinder cover protects the cylinder.
