Caterpillar has refined the design of its small wheel loaders—924K, 930K and 938K—with a number of new features, including software that allows the hydrostatic-drive system’s “torque-converter” mode to function more closely to that of a mechanical-drive machine. A redesigned left control pedal (decelerator and brake) allows more precise control, and implement-response levels (standard, medium, and fast), previously selected through the Cat Electronic Technician, can now be selected via the in-cab secondary display. In addition, the new models have thread-to-connect couplers in the auxiliary hydraulic system (replacing push-to-connect couplers) for easier operation, and the loader linkage has been modified to provide improved forward visibility to work tools.
