JCB 457 wheel loader has 16 percent more power and 18 percent more torque than its predecessor, the 456. The company’s largest loader has a 250-horsepower Tier 4-Interim diesel delivering 800 lb.-ft. of torque. Intelligent Clutch Cut-Off system allows the engine to provide maximum power to hydraulics, when the operator presses the brake pedal. It also reduces power to the driveline for greater control at lower travel speeds. Open differential axle with optional automatic differential locking provides additional tractive effort without operator input, reducing wheelspin, tire wear, and fuel consumption, JCB says. Full-color LCD monitor and revised instrument panel allow operators to access information through the screen’s intuitive menu system.
