Bobcat T62, S62 Loaders

Oct. 28, 2020

Two loaders have been added to the R Series: Bobcat T62 compact track loader and Bobcat S62 skid steer loader. Bobcat R Series features and functionality include an inline engine and direct-drive system that increase durability and performance. Both loaders are radial-lift models.

The Bobcat S62 skid steer has a rated operating capacity of 2,100 pounds; the Bobcat T62 ROC is 2,150 pounds. Each is powered by a 2.4-liter Bobcat inline engine delivering 68 horsepower without a diesel particulate filter; it is connected to a direct-drive system. The engine has higher torque than predecessor powerplants, due to higher combustion pressures. According to the company, the engine can stay at peak torque longer and generates high torque across a wider rpm range. The fuel module has been designed with a Venturi pump that draws fuel out of the tank, even when it is “very low,” according to Bobcat, allowing operators to work longer on each tank.

R Series Bobcat loaders also have a redesigned cooling system. Improvements include a larger, higher-capacity radiator and a fan that is 50 percent larger to provide more cooling at a slower rotation. The tailgate has heavy-duty steel louvers for optimal airflow.

Bobcat has improved the loaders’ lifting capabilities by upgrading lift arms, using stronger cast steel. The hydraulic system has high-efficiency pumps for more power matched to demand. Pumps are matched to cylinder size and loader lift capacity. Auxiliary standard flow is 17.6 gpm; optional high flow reaches 26.9 gpm.

Improvements targeting the operator include a one-piece, sealed and pressurized cab with a near-seamless interior. The design keeps out dust, dirt, and noise from the engine and hydraulics. Selectable joystick controls feature fingertip switches that allow the operator to choose functions without releasing the joysticks. Selectable control pattern enables the operator to choose between ISO or H-Pattern operation with the flip of a switch.

The entire cab lifts out of the way for service access. Front and rear LED lights are standard, with premium LEDs that wrap around the cab’s upper corners and side LED lights available as options.

Also available as an option is a Touch Display with 800x480-pixel resolution. Operators can view and toggle through machine-performance information. With loaders specified with a rear-view camera, the monitor displays the view when the loader is in reverse. Operators can also use the monitor to watch over and position attachments.

The T62 and S62 loaders also use the Bob-Tach attachment mounting system. The system has a stronger connection point utilizing more metal where needed, and has openings through which dirt and debris can pass.

R Series loaders come with Bobcat Features On Demand. The user sets up the loader with the required features at purchase, but if needs change, the dealer can enable more or different features.
