The 542-horsepower 395 long reach excavator’s stick measures 38 feet 9 inches. Its bucket capacity is 2.58 cubic yards, the undercarriage has a frame extension, and it carries a counterweight of 47,600 pounds. Operating weight for the Cat 395 LRE is 249,700 pounds.
The long reach is available as a kit for any 395 model and includes a 38.7-foot stick and a 50.8-foot boom. A CV linkage has been adapted for the new stick and boom.
The kit also includes fully waterproofed sensor boxes for underwater tasks. These allow operation of the full range of next generation technologies such as Cat 2D E-fence, which keeps the front linkage within a predefined work area, providing greater operator confidence when working at distance and protecting the machine from damage.
