Bobcat Brings Backhoe Loader to U.S.

Sept. 5, 2024
Currently marketed in other regions of the world, the backhoe loader will complement current U.S. offerings.

Bobcat is bringing a 96-horsepower backhoe loader into the North American market to complement the company’s current offerings.

We’ve been producing this machine for some time for markets outside of North America,” says Mike Fitzgerald, marketing manager. The machine is built in an offshore Doosan Bobcat factory for those markets.

“We want to expand our product diversity within construction, says Ryan Saunders, senior marketing specialist. “We are strategic about the size...we’re launching. We feel there's an opportunity in a particular segment of backhoe users.”

“There are certain markets, certain customers that like the versatility of the loader backhoe,” Fitzgerald says. “In other parts of the world, loader backhoes are very popular. There’s a market here in North America.” The video below, from Bauma 2022, highlights the Bobcat B730 marketed in the Middle East, CIS, and Africa. Bobcat markets a B900 backhoe loader in India.

The B760 backhoe loader digs to 18 feet 5 inches with a standard extendable arm, and the backhoe can lift 2,204 pounds at full reach. It has “nearly” 180 degrees of swing and 22 feet of reach from swing center.

The loader is rated at 7,985 pounds with 11 feet 4 inches of height to hinge pin. At full height, the loader has 4 feet of reach. The standard bucket is 1.4 cubic yards.

Standard ride control absorbs shocks in the loader arms, and the machine can travel up to 22.6 mph. Other features include return-to-dig positioning, pilot controls, auxiliary hydraulics for both front and rear, and a 5-inch color display.
