The new Kubota KX057-5 and the U55-5 compact excavators offer various upgrades from their previous units.
The KX057-5 replaces the KX057-4 in Kubota’s K Series and offers improved technology and cabin space. It is available in a canopy or cab model, and has a 47.6 gross horsepower. Dig depth is 12 feet 9 inches, and bucket breakout force is 10,172 pounds.
Technology features on the KX057-5 include a new full-color, seven-inch LCD screen. Optional keyless start is also available--the engine can be started with a four-digit code, and up to 10 user passwords can be set.
The U55-5 has 46.6 horsepower, a digging depth of 11 feet 11 inches, and a max dump height of 13 feet 2 inches. Reduced tail swing helps operators maneuver in any size jobsite.
A redesigned cabin features adjustable seating and greater head and foot space, and reduces noise from inside. A full-color LCD screen provides all operational information, along with an optional rear-view camera and keyless start.
Hydraulic quick couplers are also an option for Kubota’s entire 2-4 ton class of excavators. This allows operators to change buckets from the operator seat. The coupler includes custom control packages for a perfect fit on each excavator model, including specialized hose kits and a spring-applied hydraulic release locking mechanism.
The new machines will be available in March 2021.
