Doosan’s new 14-metric-ton DX140R excavator with reduced swing radius produces the same bucket and arm breakout forces as the conventional Doosan’s new 14-metric-ton DX140R excavator with reduced swing radius produces the same bucket and arm breakout forces as the conventional DX140LC, but tractive effort and tracking speed is increased about 6 percent and maximum pump flow has been pushed to 60 gallons per minute. The counterweight extends just 7 inches beyond the track width. The six-cylinder Doosan diesel in the DX140LC was swapped with a Cummins four cylinder to fit the DX140R’s smaller compartment, but power remains the same with 96 horsepower at 1,850 rpm. Maximum dig depth is just over 18 feet.
