Komatsu’s PC228USLC-3 short-tail-swing excavator is now equipped with a Tier 3 engine. The Komatsu electronically controlled common rail type engine reduces NOx emissions by 29 percent with an accurate multi-staged fuel injection system. It has a flywheel horsepower of 148, operating weight between 49,900 and 51,110 pounds, and a bucket capacity range of 0.66 to 1.57 cubic yards. The machine also comes equipped with the Komtrax system, which sends machine operating information to a secure website using wireless technology.
