CM Labs Simulations has added walkaround inspection training to its Motor Grader and Articulated Dump Truck Simulator Training Packs.

“At CM Labs, our focus is on providing the most comprehensive simulation training on the market,” said Lisa Barbieri, VP of marketing and strategic partnerships, in a statement. “Adding walkaround inspection training to the Motor Grader and Articulated Dump Truck Training Packs allows our clients to train operators on this crucial task without having to pull equipment from the field. But more than that, it allows trainees to gain concentrated practice quickly, making operations safer and more efficient. With one simulation training system, our customers gain a complete training solution.”

Inspection exercises offer tips and educational information at inspection points, and they allow trainees to complete lessons independently and at their own pace, in addition to under the supervision of an instructor. Walkaround inspection training includes equipment malfunctions and breaks, generated at random. This exposes trainees to a wide variety of issues, preparing them for the real issues they will encounter when completing walkaround inspections on real jobsites.

“Malfunctions and breaks don’t happen often, but when they do, you want your operators to be able to spot them,” said Alan Limoges, manager of product growth and partnerships, in a statement. “Our exercises introduce malfunctions into the inspection at random, which teaches operators to remain vigilant. Also, by simply completing the walkaround inspection, they learn the various components of the machine, what each component looks like, and what they do.”
