    Worker Dies in Skid Steer Accident at Pennsylvania Site

    A man with Lancaster County connections was killed Friday in an accident involving a skid steer loader in Lebanon County, according to police.

    Millcreek Township police said Clinton D. Martin, 35, of Berks County, died at TLS Equipment LLC in Newmanstown after coworkers found him pinned under a skid steer around 9:44 a.m.

    Employees freed Martin with other equipment at the site.

    Police said Martin was likely working under the elevated arms of the skid steer when the mechanism holding them in place failed, dropping the arms and pinning him. 

    Methods to improve safety around equipment

    Emergency responders said Martin was dead when they arrived; the coroner was called to the scene.

    Martin, of Graeff Road in Robesonia, was a TLS employee for six years, according to police. His obituary said he was an active member of Zion Mennonite Chapel in Reinholds in West Cocalico Township.

    His funeral is scheduled to take place in Lititz on Thursday. Martin will be buried at New Haven Mennonite Church. He is survived by his wife, four sons and many other relatives.

    A representative with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration said the agency is investigating the death and will release findings in six months.
