Komatsu Autonomous Haul System Reaches Milestones

Aug. 2, 2024
More than 750 autonomous Komatsu trucks have been deployed worldwide.

With a fleet of more than 750 autonomous haul trucks commissioned worldwide, Komatsu customers have hauled more than 10 billion metric tons of material, while 10 autonomous trucks have achieved 100 thousand autonomous hours of operation time each, according to Komatsu.

Komatsu launched the FrontRunner Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) in 2008. The value customers create from implementing a Komatsu AHS is tangible in terms of promoting improved safety practices, productivity and cost reduction, according to the company.

FrontRunner achieves these benefits through its predictable fleet management, production, and component life by leveraging Komatsu's people, process, and technological expertise. According to the company, customers who have adopted AHS have seen significant improvements in tire and brake life and reductions in overall maintenance.
