John Deere will lay off more than 600 workers at plants in East Moline, Illinois; Davenport, Iowa; and Dubuque, Iowa, by the end of August.

According to news reports, the layoffs include 280 employees at the Harvester Works in East Moline, 230 at the Davenport Works in Davenport, and 100 at the Dubuque Works in Dubuque. The company will also lay off an unspecified number of salaried employees by the end of July, according to a report by WQAD.

Deere has laid off about 1,000 workers since September 2023. In June, the company announced it would transfer some of its production of skid steer and compact track loaders to Mexico from its Dubuque Works facility. A facility to be built in Ramos, Mexico, will be up and running in 2026.
