Scott Young has been named head of Volvo Construction Equipment North America. He replaces Stephen Roy, who recently moved to Mack Trucks as president of the Volvo Group truck company.
Young will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction for region North America.
Volvo CE also announced a new head of technology, Mats Skoldberg, who replaces Thomas Bitter. Bitter now heads up Volvo’s new compact equipment unit.
The company announced a newly created executive role on its Executive Management Team (EMT) for digital and IT. Jay Parker, head of digital and IT for the company, will now also serve as head of digital & IT on the EMT.
“Our leadership team will be greatly strengthened with the addition of Scott, Mats, and Jay, as they join during a significant time of change for our industry,” said Melker Jernberg, head of Volvo CE, in a statement. “
With their diverse experience, cross-functional understanding, and genuine passion, I have no doubt we will continue to lead our company’s sustainable transformation going forward.”
