Volvo Updates EC20E, Adds ECR18E to Lineup

The ECR18E compact excavator is a new model, and the EC20E excavator replaces its D Series predecessor. Volvo produced a walk-around video below.

The ECR18E has an operating weight of 3,748 pounds, maximum digging depth of 8 feet, and is powered by a 16.1-horsepower engine. The ultra short-swing unit has a rear overhang of 0.5 inches when tracks are fully extended, and top-mounted boom cylinder adds protection. The canopy is built with heavy-duty pillars.

The updated EC20E has an operating weight of 4,332 pounds, maximum dig depth of 8 feet 6 inches, and is powered by a 16.1-horsepower engine. Improvements over the D Series include a 13-percent increase in tractive force, 22 percent more lifting capacity at the front, and 7 percent more at the side. Auxiliary hydraulic flows can be independently adjusted in each direction.

Volvo offers a lifetime warranty on the frame, boom, and arm of both models.
