Bobcat is currently updating these compact excavators to R2 Series.
The Bobcat E42 and E50 excavators are the first in the R2 series. The E42 Bobcat mini excavator offers 42.6 horsepower, and has a maximum reach of 17.6 feet. Maximum dig depth is 10.4 feet. The E50 offers 49.7 horsepower, has a maximum reach of 19.3 feet, and a maximum dig depth of 11.4 feet.
Tier 4-Final engines have been added to the E45 and E55 M Series Bobcat mini excavators. An ultra-low particulate combustion design eliminates the need for a DPF. Models E50 and E55 rubber tracked crawler excavators have 12 percent more torque. A machine-protection system monitors engine coolant and oil temperatures, and it manages engine systems to reduce the possibility of shut down, Bobcat says. A redesigned cab includes forward-mount instrumentation. The previous instrumentation panel required the operator to turn to the side to engage the panel’s input switches; the new panel presents these buttons in front of the operator, where they are easier to identify and reach.
