Hitachi Zaxis excavator

Sept. 28, 2010

The first new Zaxis excavator of 2003 will be the 35,500-pound 160LC. With a turbocharged and intercooled Isuzu diesel engine turning out 110 horsepower at 2,150 rpm (to meet Tier II emissions specs), Hitachi says the new machine significantly outperforms the old EX160LC-5. Arm digging force increased to 17,760 foot-pounds with the standard 8 foot-6 inch arm. Hitachi will also show the Zaxis 225USLC, a new short-tail-swing excavator similar to the Zaxis 200LC.
