Liebherr PR 736 G8 is the first crawler dozer in the Generation-8 lineup. The 217-horsepower Liebherr dozer is powered by a newly developed Liebherr EVO series diesel engine. The hydrostatic-drive dozer has an operating weight of 56,218 pounds. Available blade configurations include straight, semi-U, and 6-way, and blade capacities range from 5.36 to 7.27 cubic yards. Rear-equipment options also are available.
Fully separating the cabin from the machine base and the noise-optimized drivetrain, says the manufacturer, significantly reduces vibration. Standard climate control maintains cabin temperature, and new access and descent lighting has a delay function that can be activated from outside. A 9-inch display conveys relevant operating information and is used to adjust driving and steering response. Main functions are controlled via haptic buttons and keys.
New operator-assistance systems on Generation-8 Liebherr bulldozers provide three assistance levels: Free Grade for active blade stabilization during fine grading; Definition Grade for automatic blade positioning when creating 2D grades; and 3D Grade as an optional GPS machine-control system to model complex terrain shapes with standard roof-mounted GPS/GNSS antennas. Liebherr Active Sensor Control stabilizes all blade axis and is a standard feature. Two independently mounted integrated sensor circuits (gyroscopic and inertia sensors) allow for high grading speeds and accurate fine grading, says Liebherr. Electronic pilot-controlled hydraulics can be adjusted to operating conditions and the operator’s requirements.
A tilting cab and extended service intervals are among Generation-8 maintenance features. LiDAT, the Liebherr fleet-management system, is a standard feature, delivering information such as machine position, operating and usage duration, fuel consumption, and service interval information.
