Liebherr PR 766 dozer is a 422-horsepower unit with operating weights between 101,000 and 119,500 pounds, and it replaces the PR 764 bulldozer in the company’s line.
The 8-cylinder engine achieves emissions compliance through an optimized combustion process and SCR without the use of a DPF, and a hydrostatic drive keeps engine speed constant in practical use regardless of the required load. Essential drive train components for the dozers are developed and coordinated in-house, which increases the efficiency of the system as a whole, Liebherr says. An ECO function allows the operator to choose between high performance and maximum efficiency. The proactive power adjustment feature involves both internal engine and external machine parameters being recorded, such as the deflection of the drive joystick, and the engine power is automatically increased for a short period based on the current demand. An oscillating undercarriage is standard and allows the track rollers to flexibly adapt to the surface.
The PR 766 cab is identical to the cab on the larger PR 776 introduced last year, and the standard LiDAT fleet management system provides data for remote monitoring. The data is updated several times a day and can be called up at any time using a web browser. Automatic alarms can be set up for important information such as a geofence violation, or if a critical operating situation arises.
