New-generation Cat D10T2 dozer offers two variations of the Cat C27 ACERT engine: Tier 4-Final and Tier 2. Both engines produce net power of 600 horsepower in forward gears and 722 horsepower in reverse gears. The engine controller automatically adjusts power output based on the direction of travel, and the dozer has about 20 percent more power in reverse compared to its predecessor model. Load-sensing implement hydraulics system automatically and continuously adjusts implement hydraulic power and delivers the most efficient levels of flow and pressure, the company says. Improved filtration protects the fuel system, hydraulic system, and power train oil system. Refined large structures extend service before rebuilds, according to Caterpillar. Access and egress have also been improved.
