Komatsu to Introduce Electric Amphibious Dozers

    Komatsu and Asunaro Aoki Construction Co. have developed electric amphibious crawler dozers, which are set to be released at the 2025 Future Society Showcase Project in Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

    The dozers are equipped with automatic control and information and communications technology (ICT) functions that can be remotely operated without requiring skilled technique. In July 2023, the prototype machine was produced, and testing has been conducted in rivers and fishing ports.

    At the Expo, the exhibit will focus on the theme “Underwater Construction of the Future: enabling anyone to contribute to protecting lives and livelihoods” by using underwater construction robots. The exhibit will  emphasize that “Underwater Construction of the Future” contributes to disaster prevention and recovery, renewable energy, and blue carbon initiatives, such as the creation of seagrass beds and tidal flats, according to the company.
