The Construction Lifters Rig-Release is an electronic, remote-control releasing hook. When the 2.5-ton-capacity Rig-Release is part of the load’s rigging, a worker positioned on the ground or in the cab of a crane can release the device from the rigging (with the push of a button) once the load has been set. According to the manufacturer, the Rig-Release can be hooked “to your crane or other lifting device,” then the lifting sling attached and the load rigged. Once the load has been landed and the lift line is slack, the operator can press the remote button to release the sling from the Rig-Release. The device, says the manufacturer, conforms to ASME standards.
