Deere Workers to Vote on a 3rd Contract

Nov. 16, 2021

Deere & Company's UAW workers will vote on a new contract tomorrow.

This is the third tentative agreement brought to workers for a vote. The first was rejected handily; the second was turned down by 55 percent of voters. The strike, involving 10,000 workers at 12 facilities, has lasted just over a month.

"The UAW will present the Company's offer for ratification and, as has been the case throughout the bargaining process, will support the outcome," UAW spokesperson Brian Rothenberg said in a statement, reported by the Des Moines Register.

Rothenberg also said the latest agreement is Deere's "last, best and final offer." Deere spokesperson Jennifer Hartmann declined to comment Friday night when Deere and UAW officials reached an agreement to send to a vote, but she previously told the Register that the company would not increase its offer above the one members rejected Nov. 2.
