The Dana SmartWave Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a real-time electronic system that “actively and accurately” measures the air pressure and temperature for each tire on a vehicle, is now available for retrofit installation through International Truck dealers. The system transmits data in wireless fashion to a receiver mounted on the vehicle, and then displays the information in the cab.
The Dana SmartWave Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a real-time electronic system that “actively and accurately” measures the air pressure and temperature for each tire on a vehicle, is now available for retrofit installation through International Truck dealers. The system transmits data in wireless fashion to a receiver mounted on the vehicle, and then displays the information in the cab. The system, says Dana, is suitable for all wheel and tire types. The SmartWave TPMS was developed in collaboration with SmarTire Systems. Initial configurations available include 4x2 with standard dual tires, 6x4 with wide-base tires and 6x4 with standard dual tires.
