Crane Rolls Down Hill During Thunderstorm, Crashes Into Building

A truck crane crashed through the side of the Russ McEwen Family Aquatic Center building in Big Spring, Texas, after rolling down a hill during a thunderstorm. The machine was being used to help with routine maintenance on a water slide pump.

After a thunderstorm hit, city workers left to take shelter, leaving the crane parked at the top of a hill. When they returned, the crane had crashed through the building’s side.

The crash caused damage to the center’s mechanical, filter, and pump rooms. No injuries were reported.
