Tadano eGR-1000XLL-1 Electric Rough Terrain Crane

Lifting specs for the eGR-1000XLL-1 are the same as its diesel counterpart, and the crane is 8% quieter.

Evolt eGR-1000XLL-1 Tadano rough terrain crane is fully electric and lifts the same as its diesel counterpart, the Tadano GR-1000XLL-4. The RT crane lifts 100 tons at 8 feet; boom length is 167.3 feet. The electric crane is about 8% quieter than the diesel version, at 99 dB(A).

The crane’s 226-kWh battery can be charged using standard 480 VAC grid power or a CCS1 rapid-charging system. When using 3-phase 480V normal charging with 60-amp capacity, it takes 4.5 to 5.5 hours to fully charge the battery. Rapid charging allows completion in 2 to 3 hours. Plug-in operation provides continuous crane operation.

Crane travel is powered by two 97-kW motors that provide maximum travel speed of 11 mph and gradeability of 40%. A regenerative brake uses energy generated by resistance when the motor is driven by wheel rotation during deceleration to charge the batteries. The crane can lift for 7 hours on a charge, or up to 5 hours with 5.5 miles of travel.

The Evolt App displays the battery status, operating history, and distance to the destination of the crane. Other technologies include Lift Visualizer, which uses a suspended load-monitoring camera that allows operators to monitor suspended loads from directly above.
