The GMK6450-1 Grove all-terrain crane has an additional 50 tons of capacity than the GMK6400-1 that it is replacing. The six-axle Grove crane has a maximum capacity rating of 450 tons.

The five-section main boom extends from 15.4 to 60 meters.

MAXbase variable outrigger positioning system allows the use of asymmetrical outrigger setups and results in enhanced load charts. MAXbase can also be used in conjunction with the capacity-increasing MegaWingLift. The self-rigging attachment can be deployed in less than 20 minutes and does not require an assist crane. MAXbase increases lifting capacity by up to 70% on the main boom and by up to 400% when using the luffing jib.
