The 14000, says Manitowoc, is best suited to jobs that can capitalize on its heavy-lift capabilities, including commercial construction, bridge building, fabrication yards and petrochemical plants. The new crawler, with a rated lift capacity of 220 tons, is a fully hydraulic crane that can handle a maximum boom of 292 feet, and a boom plus luffing jib up to 363 feet. Line pull on the main drum is 31,500 pounds. When transporting the 14000, says Manitowoc, the complete crane (with maximum boom, fixed jib, and counterweights) moves on 12 trucks. The new model features Manitowoc’s patented EPIC/Can-Bus control system, which allows control of six, independent, closed-loop hydraulic circuits for optimum performance while lifting, and the company’s patented FACT connection system facilitates set-up and tear down.
