Link-Belt 238 HSL Crawler Crane Lifts 150 Tons
The 150-ton-capacity Link-Belt 238 HSL crawler crane can use a main boom ranging from 50 to 260 feet, in combination with a fixed jib that can range from 30 to 80 feet. Maximum tip height is 310 feet with the 230-foot main boom and 80-foot jib. Maximum line pull is 46,942 pounds and maximum line speed is 507 fpm. Powering the crane is an Isuzu 6HK1 engine, Tier-4-I compliant, and rated at 282 horsepower. Transport weights include an 86,000-pound main load; two 35,000-pound side frames; one 20,000-pound “A” counterweight; and six 15,000-pound “biscuit” weights. Side frames attach via hook and pin. Piston motors drive the swing and travel systems, front and rear winches, and the boom hoist. Main winches feature power-up, power-down, with automatic brakes. Wet-type brakes for freefall on both drums are standard, as is a foot-operated, all-hydraulic swing brake.
