Caterpillar K Series Crawler Dozers

Sept. 28, 2010

Engine power of the new K-Series crawler dozers from Caterpillar – the D3K, D4K and D5K – has been increased 5 to 7 percent. All three hydrostatic-drive track type tractors are powered by the Tier-3-certified Cat C4.4 ACERT engine, rated at 74 horsepower for the D3K, 84 horsepower for the D4K, and 96 horses in the D5K. The new models feature a larger, quieter cab and seat-mounted electro-hydraulic controls with lever efforts decreased as much as 90 percent compared to conventional mechanical control levers.
