More than 1,000 UWA-represented Case New Holland (CNH Industrial) plant workers in Wisconsin and Iowa have gone on strike for higher pay.
UAW leaders called the strike, according to multiple reports, including one by The Des Moines Register, after negotiating with the construction and agricultural equipment maker for 2 1/2 months.
UAW VP Chuck Browning said in a statement that Case New Holland "failed to meet the union's requirements." A UAW spokesperson declined to comment on what the union is asking for or how much employees earned per hour under the previous contract.
“Our members at CNHi strike for the ability to earn a decent living, retire with dignity and establish fair work rules,” Browning said. “We stay committed to bargaining until our members' goals are achieved.”
