NexStar Crane Management System delivers advanced control technology and added safety features for truck-mounted cranes used in the mining industry. NexStar-equipped hydraulic cranes, says the company, offer load-monitoring and load-limiting controls, a visual signal, and an optional audio alarm to communicate potentially dangerous overload conditions.  Features include truck-level and boom-angle sensors, a status indicator light, and an LCD diagnostics display with plain text readouts.  At 90 percent of rated load, the crane is automatically limited to 50 percent speed and the visual signal turns yellow. At 100 percent of rated load, the signal turns red and disables functions that could create an overload condition, but the system allows functions that allow the operator to return the load to a safe condition.
