Students in the construction pathway at Iowa’s Sioux City Career Academy are now certified to operate scissor lifts and forklifts, and are certified under OSHA’s safety standards. According to a report in Siouxland News, the students got some practical training with the lifts outside West High.
According to the article, students were tasked with demonstrating their ability to safely operate the lift. In the video, students are shown engaging in practical training outdoors. The Siouxland News anchor reported that classes were free for all students to attend, but can generally run over $200 to receive individually.
